Dual-qualified in Slovakia and the Czech Republic, he worked in the Firm's Prague and New York offices before relocating to Bratislava. Marek's multi-sector practice makes him particularly adept at guiding clients through the maze of complex legal issues arising from their business activities. His significant transactional record spans mergers and acquisitions, securities, variety of banking and project finance deals. Marek's skill in developing and executing the most challenging of transactions has led to his involvement in a number of ground-breaking deals, noted for their complexity and pioneering dimension. Most recently, he led the team that advised the Slovak Government in connection with the major overhaul of its energy legislation, and the subsequent reshaping of the ownership structure of Slovakia's leading natural gas industry operator, which involved a series of complex transactions with a total value of more than € 2.5 billion. Marek's advisory practice spans an array of corporate matters, across a range of territories and business areas. He brings particular insight to issues faced by clients in the areas of electronic communications, energy and financial services. Drawing on his significant experience of these sectors, he has acted as legal counsel on most of the major transactions within Slovakia.
